2012 Cathedral Antiques Show Names Inspiration House Designers

For the second year, a group of talented designers will transform The Deanery on the grounds of the Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead into “Inspiration House,” a wonderful addition to the 2012 Cathedral Antiques Show and Tour of Homes (www.cathedralantiques.org).

Twenty-two talented designers will blend traditional and contemporary design inside and outside the classic five-bedroom, 4.5-bath 1980’s home, showcasing how antiques can be used throughout the two-story house to create living spaces that range from cozy to dramatic, and from casual to elegant. The Tour of Homes, including Inspiration House, is sponsored by Harry Norman, Realtors, and Arrow Exterminators. The co-chairs for Inspiration House are James H. Deadwyler of Deadwyler Antiques, and Rick Anthony Bonner of Bonner LLC. This year, proceeds will benefit AADD (All About Developmental Disabilities). Show chairmen are Nancy Rizor and Boog Candler. Honorary chairs are Jane and Hicks Lanier.

Inspiration House is located at 2799 Andrews Drive in Buckhead, adjacent to the Cathedral of St. Philip. It will be open to the public Saturday, Jan. 28 (Premier Party), Sunday, Jan. 29, Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 2-5 and Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 9-12. The Cathedral Antiques Show is scheduled for Feb. 2-4. Tickets, which include a tour of Inspiration House, are now on sale.

The theme of the 2012 Cathedral Antiques Show is “Passion for a Purpose.” The popular annual event brings together local, regional and national exhibitors offering a variety of beautiful 18th, 19th and early 20th century antiques. Among the items for sale are rugs, art, furniture, porcelain, silver and other collectibles. In addition to the exhibits and Inspiration House, the Show includes daily lectures on antiques and design, afternoon lunch and tea and a tour of some of the area’s most gracious homes.

The Cathedral Antiques Show is Atlanta’s oldest and most prestigious antiques show, and is a major outreach project sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of the Cathedral of St. Philip (www.stphilipscathedral.org). With the help of hundreds of volunteers and support from the church, antique dealers and event sponsors, the Antiques Show and its Tour of Homes and Inspiration House have raised over $3 million for Atlanta-area non-profits since 1969. The event attracts participants and attendees from around the country who enjoy art, design, decorating and learning about antiques. It is held at the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road, Atlanta 30305. www.cathedralantiques.org
