Tucker Middle School Music Students Travel to the Capitol

On a recent spring evening, 88 Tucker Middle School students and 16 parent chaperones gathered at the school to board two charter buses headed for Washington D.C. The students are members of the Tucker Middle School Symphonic Band, Orchestra and Chorus and were invited to our nation’s capitol to perform at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

The landmark Capital City Country Club in Brookhaven achieved a nearly perfect look by 1981 when it completed an important phase of an extensive renovation. It had been a long process to modernize and expand an impressive recreation complex centered on the historic clubhouse and surrounded by golf links.

 

Brookhaven Farmer’s Market is Open Again!

Now in its second successful season, the Brookhaven Farmer’s Market, sponsored by Word of Mouth Restaurants, HAVEN and Valenza, is open for business on Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., through late fall. The market is located in the HAVEN and Valenza parking lot just off Dresden Drive in the heart of Brookhaven. Shoppers will find locally grown and locally produced food and farm products from more than 20 farmers, food producers and artisans. That number will grow as the season progresses and the abundant bounty of local produce ripens.
