Atlanta Boy Choir Sings in Russia

Boy ChoirThe world famous Atlanta Boy Choir has been invited to join Russia’s renowned Glinka Choir in presenting a concert on June 4 in The Great Hall of the Philharmonic in St. Petersburg, Russia. Although the Atlanta Boy Choir has appeared in Russia several times since 1990, this is the first time they have been asked to perform with another Russian choir in The Great hall of the Philharmonic.

 

This invitation to the choir was issued by Sergei Dzevanovsky director of the Glinka Choir College and one of Russia’s most revered musicians. He recently received Russian’s highest honor from President Medvedev.

 

During their visit in June, The Atlanta Boy Choir’s 30 boys and 20 men have also been booked at the magnificent Winter Place of the Czars to sing in the Capella. Other concerts during this tour include the Philharmonic Hall in Novgorod; Russian’s oldest city from which Alexander Nevsky departed t o establish what is now Russia.

 

The choir, which has sung in just about every famous concert hall in the world, will perform during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute on Thursday, January 12th, at 10 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol, 206 Washington St. SW, Atlanta 30334.
