“And Yours Will be Smiling As Well!” promises Limerick Junction’s Web site, as Atlanta’s oldest Irish pub gears up for its 25th annual St’ Patrick’s Day celebration! Of course, the Virginia-Highland institution gets its Irish up all the time, but it will no doubt pull out all the stops to commemorate the quarter century. Limerick Junction usually features a full day of festivities with a block party in the rear of the pub and live Irish music inside. Since St Patty’s falls on a Saturday this year (March 17), one can expect the fine fellowship and revelry to be kicked up several notches!
Expect many perfectly poured pints of Guinness to be consumed with the Junction’s hearty Hibernian staples like Drunken Shepherd’s Pie made with Smithwick Ale gravy ($8.95) and Dublin stew with Irish soda bread ($6.25). Details are still being finalized, so check the Web site for updates.
Not to be outdone, the Hand in Hand pub just down the road on N. Highland will be offering a full week of St. Patty’s partying and promotions leading up to the big day itself. While technically an English pub, it doesn’t pour a shabby pint of Guinness itself! Check their Web site for the latest blasts.
