OnStage Atlanta Theater Company Presents Holiday Treats for the Family

OnStage Atlanta’s “Sanders Family Christmas”

“Sanders Family Christmas” – They’re back! The Sanders Family Singers are here to celebrate the holi-days with faith, family and old-fashioned fun in “Sanders Family Christmas.” It’s Christmas Eve in 1941. The Depression is coming to a close, but 18 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the threat of war has just begun. Our “Smoke on the Mountain” family has returned, about to say a bittersweet goodbye to their only son, who is shipping out with the Marine Corps. But before he goes, the Sanders Family Singers are heading up the an-nual Christmas celebration at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Hilarious and heart-warming Christmas gospel sing-along of cherished holiday hymns and carols. Conceived by Alan Bailey and written by Connie Ray, “Sanders Family Christmas” is a nostalgic musical comedy that follows the saga of “Smoke on the Mountain,” one of the most loved and most produced musicals worldwide.
Holiday Christmas Shorts – Take a fruitcake, a brisket, a dancing Rockette, mix in some disgruntled elves, add a stolen Baby Jesus for spice and you have the recipe for OnStage Atlanta’s second installment of their Merry Little Holiday Shorts. OnStage Atlanta presents nine brand new holiday treats that will surely tickle your funny bone or melt the heart of even the worst Holiday Grinch. Playwrights from all over the US submitted original one acts to this year’s festival.

“Suessical the Musical Jr.” – In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters come to life! Including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. “Seussical Jr.” is fun for the whole family!
