The students were presented with a proclamation from the United States House of Representatives. Congressman Henry C. “Hank” Johnson Jr., a representative from the 4th district, made the presentation, proclaiming March 30th, 2012 as Tucker Middle School Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra and Chorus Day. The following day, the students had the opportunity to perform for professional musicians, who gave critiques and demonstrated new techniques for how to improve musical skills.

During the trip, the group had an opportunity to have a photo made at the White House and toured several national landmarks, the Smithsonian, Arlington National Cemetery and more.
